[Classical] from Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra; Centaur

Music by Amy Beach

review by Laima

Re-working of pieces  “Variations on Balkan Themes”, the composer’s lifelong muse, begun in 1906, and revised in 1936. Beach used the Serbian song, O Maiko Moya,(lamentations of the Serbians for their persecution of occupiers)  for the structure of many of her pieces. Tracks 2-6 have voice, track 8 is waltz-like.
