Golden Bloom is multi-instrumentalist Shawn Fogel who claims to sound ‘45% more bad ass than Death Cab for Cutie’ (I think not). Fan the Flames is his first album under this new moniker, second release from the sleepy west. The album starts off very upbeat and catchy almost to the point of immediate turn off, but after getting passed the first 2 or 3 tracks the album winds down and the songs become more focused and developed. The fifth track, “The Flight at the End of The Tunnel” has a similar tune to the chorus of Feel Good Inc. by the Gorilliaz. There is also a secrete bonus track!!!
