[Classical] from Douglas Rivas; Naxos

Granados–Danzas Espanolas

review by Laima

Granados’ piano pieces that avoid folk references, yet are considered highly characteristic of Spanish music and the Romantic School. These recordings were transcribed from Granados’ own performance  in 1916 on piano roll, made just before he and his wife perished on an English Channel ship crossing that was torpedoed by the Germans. Play all!
