[Hardcore, Metal] from Self-Released

Old Love

Chambers

Chambers- Old Love
independently released on June 22, 2010

This is the debut album by Chambers, a band from NJ described as “crusty, garage-tinged punk”.  “Pig” sounds like a cross between hardcore and hard rock with with the intensity of hardcore and pacing of a hard rock song. “Ripper” is a muddled mess of a song, at least in the beginning with a sound that I can only describe as early Bad Religion meets Thin Lizzy. There is a radio edit of this song available as well if you like it enough to play it. “Old Love” is pretty much in a similar vein as the other songs but there’s a definite amount of Motley Crue in it . My biggest criticism so far is the sound quality. The sound is a bit muddled in spots, making it difficult to figure out just what I’m listening to. “Crap Out” is one of the better tracks because it accurately reflects the sound that this band is trying to project and it certainly takes influence from Motorhead in the intensity. In conclusion, this is an interesting album that attempts to meld the best of two genres (hardcore and hard rock) and while they do fall short a bit due to the muddled sound, I’d still recommend that you check out this release.
