Music For Dreaming And Playing by Kristin Miltner is the 8th volume in the Library Catalog Music Series from the Asthmatic Kitty label. This album is dreamy with floating ambient tones and stretched out synthesizers. Most of the tracks range from 30 seconds to 2 1/2 minutes with the exception of “Altamont Pass” at 12+ minutes and “Dreaming Longing ” at 7+ minutes. It is a bit unusual for an ambient album to have such short tracks, but the tracks blend well together to create a complete entity. There is a little 8-bit thrown in to perk things up here and there. Overall, a very good Ambient/Electronica album, perfect for your inter-planetary commutes.
