Peggy Sue’s second album, Acrobats is dark, tense, and angsty in the most bas-ass way. It makes me want to smoke cigarettes and blow it in people’s faces. I think that description does the album justice in itself, but I will keep going if you didn’t get it. The first track, “Cut my Teeth,” is an epic battle with itself, saying, “I wish I was quiet and I wish I was mean.” So badass, all over dark and drifting guitar riffs. The album continues at this pace but picks up a bit with some Wild Flag-esque girl-punk style. The vocals in this band are phenomenal and the fuzzy buzzy instrumentation adds for some music that is beyond atmospheric but rather becomes an experience in itself. Check out all tracks.
