review by LaimaChinese piano concertos from the late 30’s (Yellow River) or 1958 (Butterfly Lovers) reflecting Asian and Western musical elements. Oddly enough, the patriotism of Yellow River almost sounds like Broadway in part with vague Asian elements, while the Butterfly Lovers is much more “Asian” and quite lovely. Try trk 5.
