We Need Surgery are an alternative rock band that claims Vancouver as its home. This album falls into a fairly typical alt-rock habit of imitating their inspirations. Although you won’t hear too many new ideas, the album still delivers solid songs. The front end of this album, and especially the first three tracks recall the synths and bouncy bass of New Order, and “Cocoon” sounds like a more guitar centric LCD Soundsystem tune. The middle and end of this album turns towards some garage pop i.e. Franz Ferdinand.
