Andrew Bird’s newest album, one of two released this year, is a typical Andrew Bird album: very folky with acoustic guitars and violins. Hands of Glory is a little more towards the Americana side than many of his other albums with songs like “When that Helicopter Comes” and “Railroad Bill” having that old style country feel. Bird also seems to stray away from sounding too soft by adding electric guitar and growing drums on many tracks, such as “Three White Horses”. Hands of Glory is easy listening at its best.
