Advanced Reviewing

Into the rabbit hole.
This little page offers quite a nice selection of tools that allows for great personalization of your reviews. They will be especially helpful if your goal is to get your review to catch a few eyes and be recognized on the web.
Media Toolbar (”Add media”):
The first icon we have is “Add an Image”. This allows you to plop an image into your post.
1. Find the image’s web address (not the address of the website the image came from!). This address goes into the “source” field.
2. You have option to enter a “title”. This will show up when you scroll over the image on the actual post (this should work in preview mode.
3. You may also enter a “caption”. This will appear beneath the posted image in a box.
4. Now choose where to position the picture with the given radio buttons.
5. The “Link URL” basically allows the image to be “clickable” and it when the user clicks on your image, it will bring him/her to the link. (note this has nothing to do with the actual image displayed!)
6. OKAY! Ready to update your post with a new, spiffy image! Once you’ve done this you can edit everything you just did by clicking on the image, and then clicking on the edit picture option. ALSO, you may change the size once you’ve entered the picture, under the “advanced settings” tab you can actually enter an exact size for the image, which is easy/handy when you upload perfectly square album art (which is usually the case!)

We now move on to add video!
This one is less nice as far as the layout (an alternative presented later…)
This one is quite simple. Add the url for the video and the link title and you’re off!
This is what this will look like:
the hook-man (former station manager ben bezark)
The better alternative (get it?), might be to do this:
This is called embedding where you actually “write” some code in html. To do this you have to switch over to the “HTML” tab located conveniently next to the “add media” options. Once here you can copy in some code that comes straight from youtube or vimeo or whereever you get your video. There is often something that says “embed” next to the videos that offer up the code. Copy this and simply paste it into your review.
Remember to switch back to “visual” before you continue writing!
Now to adding audio!
NOW EXTREMELY EASY!!! Just find the address for the actual .mp3 file online and paste it into the “audio file url” space. It should now show up all pretty in it’s player… like this… (also you may want to site the source, as I have)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

(adding media is an all-encompassing way to do the above)
THE MORE TAB
Alright, adding a “more” tab is a GREAT way to make your lengthy reviews more presentable. Click on the icon that looks a bit like a page break symbol and a line will show up in your review, anything above the line automatically shows up when you publish the review… anything below this line can be accessed by the user when he/she clicks on “more”. A new page will open with all the content included.
(note, when you “preview this post” it will not look like the “more” tab is actually working, but it is!, it will show up when you publish)
I may come back and edit/add as new information comes to me, this will hopefully get to going though.
happy reviewing
