How to Write Reviews

Posted by: gonterian

1.  Log-in here: http://reviews.wruv.org/wp-admin.  You can also get there from the front side by clicking on “Log In” in the right navigation under “META.”  You will get your log in from Emily.

2. Go to “Write” or “Manage” depending on whether creating a new review [write] or editing an existing review [manage].

3.  Click on “Post”

4.  Enter the album name in the album field.  Try to spell correctly!

5.  Enter review.  This can be as long as you desire and can include whatever information you feel is pertinent.  There are also many tools to add media and format your review (see advanced review page).

6.  Remember to include recommended tracks and FCC warnings.  I recommend putting a blank line after the review then insert:

“tracks: 1, 3, 5… FCC: 2, 4!!!” or something similar, leave a line between so DJ’s can find recommended tracks fast if they are in a hurry.

7.  Under “More Info” enter the label and album names.  Hit the “Select” button to pick the option, then put the name in the value field.

8.  Hit “Add Custom Field” and that will tag the review with the Artist and Label.  Please do not add any new labels for now.

9.  Select the genre with the appropriate radio button.

It will be possible to put a review under more than one genre.  Check with an MD about this.

10. That’s it.  Hit “Publish” if this is a new review or “Save” if you are editing.  You can also preview you post at any time by hitting “Preview this post”, it will open a new window which can be closed without harming the post.

Rock the reviews!
