The 2 Bears “Be Strong”

The 2 Bears

The 2 Bears is comprised of Joe Goddford (Hot Chip) and Raf Rundell, their album Be Strong is a homage to their home town of London and with that in mind this album attempts to capture the electronic beat that underlies the London music scene.

Made with London in their heart Be Strong is filled with electronic intensive tracks that invite the listener to enjoy them as much as the Goddford and Rundell did while making them.

Tracks like “Work” and “Take A Look Around” start in one place and affectively engage you in a way that makes you lose track of the time. Each track is crafted with enthusiasm, so much so that it almost comes off as too campy to handle, but any overtones of trés camp are offset by the sincerity that radiates through each song.

As soon as Be Strong is played becomes a tribute that does justice to the great city of London that inspired it.
